Responsible Development

Responsible development means not only making decisions for our current state, but also planning for the future. By reducing urban sprawl - building up not out - we encourage development in neighbourhoods that already have the desired infrastructure in place. That translates into reduced costs to provide desirable amenities like parks, pools and skating rinks while increasing revenue from a broader range of property taxpayers.

As implementation of the City Plan moves forward, Jo-Anne upholds the responsibility to our environment and considers the impact of development on it. She opposed a proposal to move a natural creek bed in favour of industrial development, and encouraged the support of Council colleagues to decline the rezoning request.
